Text/Topic/Work Focus
The work presents a faceless character. The breast emphasizes that this is a mature woman. It symbolizes that when we do not put makeup on our faces, we prefer to remain natural, sometimes it happens that we become imperceptible and unattractive to others. As a result, we become ’invisible’. This work was inspired by the sculpture ”No face, but there is a story to fill in by yourself” of Karin van Berne.
