Text/Topic/Work Focus
The depicted character, whose face cannot be seen, has no created image. The figure symbolizes people who at all costs try to change their external appearance to be better perceived. The blob on the face emphasizes, that, by changing our appearance we often forget who we are, while losing our whole self. A large blob covering the whole face can also symbolize the amount of criticism and negative opinions falling on us. This work was inspired by the sculpture “Rain” of Nazar Bilyk.
