The way of thinking that most of our value rests upon our appearance is becoming very common. The work shows that as girls, we learn that our beauty is more important than our thoughts and opinions. We strive to fit into impossible standards of beauty. And if we don’t fit, we can’t move through the world as easily as those who do. The work examines the harm of appearance obsession. It is questioned how certain oppressive standards of beauty imprint themselves on the psyche of young people.
